HARTFORD’S NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION, FIRST NIGHT HARTFORD 2022 TO HOST AN IN-PERSON CELEBRATION ACROSS 12 VENUES IN HARTFORD

HARTFORD, CTNovember 16, 2021 – First Night Hartford is back and in person this New Year’s Eve, with expanding programming and a new live broadcast. Since 1989, First Night Hartford has been Hartford's New Year's Eve party; a friends and family-friendly, multicultural, artistically unique New Year's celebration with countless professional musicians, artists, performance groups and exhibits that inspire thousands of people of all ages to attend each year. The First Night marks the passage from the old year to the New Year with art, ritual and festivity. First Night Hartford is back and will safely welcome back attendees for in-person activities and performances across twelve venues in Downtown Hartford.

First Night Hartford 2022 will take place on Friday, December 31, 2021 from 2 p.m. to midnight and will feature over thirty performances, activities, and exhibits at various venues including two fireworks displays at 6 p.m. and 12 a.m. midnight in Bushnell Park.

Visitors will get in on the fun by setting out on a “scavenger hunt” style walk through downtown, discovering twelve intentions for 2022 along the way. The intentions, selected in collaboration with artists and venues, will be displayed through the work of various visual artists at the entryway of each venue. A combination of activities and live art will be available at each of the twelve venues.

The First Night Hartford 2022 button design was created by award-winning art director and established artist, Ellis Echevarria. Ellis Echevarria is a fine artist from Hartford known for using digital media in his art.

Updates can be found on the Facebook event page here.

Buttons and Party Kits for First Night Hartford 2022 are available now. Buttons are available through an early bird special now until the end of November.
