FIRST NIGHT HARTFORD 2024 RETURNS ACROSS VENUES IN DOWNTOWN HARTFORD AND MAJOR STAGE ON TRINITY STREET WITH TWO TRADITIONAL FIREWORKS SHOWS

The main stage on Trinity Street – beneath the Soldier and Sailors Arch – makes its inaugural debut at this year’s First Night celebration, tomorrow December 31, 2021 from 2pm-12am.

First Night Hartford will be adjusting its lineup due to the omicron surge, but in-person and live broadcast fun continues! On Friday, December 31, 2021 from 2 p.m. to midnight, we’re leaning into outdoor activities with an art walk turned scavenger through downtown Hartford, focused on setting intentions for the new year.

First Night Hartford 2021 collaborated with the City of Hartford Department of Health and Human Services to bring public service art to our communities.

Hartford-based and world-renowned artist, Ed Johnetta Miller is known for her elaborate and vibrant quilts. This year we reached out to Ed Johnetta to create a piece for First Night Hartford 2021 – made out of previous year's First Night T-shirts.

This year, First Night Hartford will be turning our 32nd annual New Year’s celebration into a robust TV broadcast, facebook and youtube livestream, and live zoom workshops.
